How to Clear Cache After Website Edits (Divi + WP Rocket + SiteGround)

How to Clear Your Website Cache After Edits

Why you may need to clear cache

Your website uses “cache” to load faster. After you update text, images, or page layouts, cache can cause you to see the
old version for a while.

Clearing cache helps when:

  • Your edits don’t show up
  • Styling/layout looks “off”
  • A new image doesn’t appear
  • A page looks different for you vs. someone else

Step 0 (Fast Check): Hard Refresh Your Browser

Before clearing website cache, try a hard refresh:

  • Windows: Ctrl + F5
  • Mac (Chrome): Cmd + Shift + R
  • Mac (Safari): Cmd + Option + R

If you still don’t see your edits, continue below.

Step 1: Clear Divi Cache

Use this if you edited a page with Divi and changes aren’t showing.

  1. In WordPress, go to: Divi → Theme Options
  2. Click the Builder tab
  3. Find Static CSS File Generation
  4. Click the CLEAR button (this clears Divi’s static CSS cache)

Best for: design/layout changes, spacing, fonts, “why isn’t this styling updating?”

Step 2: Clear WP Rocket Cache

Use this if the page still shows the old version after saving edits.

  1. In WordPress, go to: Settings → WP Rocket
  2. On the Dashboard, find Quick Actions
  3. Click Clear Cache (Cache Files)
  4. Also click Clear Used CSS (if it’s enabled)
  5. Optional: If images or fonts look “off” after edits, click Clear under Priority Elements

Best for: content not updating, styling not updating, or homepage images/fonts acting weird after changes.

Recommended Order (fastest + safest)

If edits aren’t showing, do this in order:

  1. Hard Refresh (browser)
  2. Divi Cache (especially after design/layout edits)
  3. WP Rocket Cache + Used CSS
  4. Priority Elements (optional, if images/fonts look off)

Wait Time (Important)

In rare cases, caching can take a little time to fully refresh across devices and networks. If you have cleared Divi and WP Rocket cache and still don’t see your changes, wait up to 1 hour and check again using an Incognito/Private window (or another device). If your updates still do not appear after about 1 hour, please contact us so we can clear any additional server/CDN caching layers that may require hosting-level access.

Notes / Troubleshooting

  • Always Save/Update the page first.
  • Try viewing in an Incognito/Private window to avoid your browser’s cache.
  • If you use multiple caching layers, you may need to clear more than one (that’s normal).
